1. Get accepted to college either on your own or with a ROTC Program.
2. Study your *** off.
3. Get accepted into a med school or into a nursing program.
4. The military will pay and pay your way.
5. Once a Doc or Nurse, YOU will pay and pay with your time in the military.
6. After about 15 to 20 years if you are lucky you will be a Colonel.

Yep! You can go a couple ways, you can join the AF as an enlisted man (woman) and then allow them to pay for schooling! You can try to get into the USAFA and major in Biological Sciences. You can go to college get your bachelors degree, join the AF by enlisting as an office and let them pay for medical school or you can go through school, medical school, and everything and then try to get a commission. The rank attainment takes time however. I don't know of anyone commissioned in the armed services above the rank of LT. Then, after four or five years of exemplary service you may have the rank of Major or LT. Col.

Good luck.......your best bet is to contact your local recruiting office and they will help you understand the process better.

well, i was navy but here is how they did it...usually if you dont have a degree or atleast a Bachelors, you wont get commissioned unless you get a great recommendation from a Congressman or go to an academy...i had some friends in the navy who had their associates and were RN's, they got offered to go to either OCS or the nurse corps school ( i forgot the actual name of the officer nurse program sorry )

i worked with alot of doctors who got their MD's before joining the military....i had one doctor say he willfully went to a recruiter and signed up and there was another who was pegged out by the navy and they gave her a big bonus to sign up as a officer and work as a doctor because they were in desperate need...

so if you dont want to go to the academy, try getting your degree first, then go see your recruiter...good luck

Ok these are the steps get your Doctors degree or Masters degree in nursing then apply for a direct commission as a nurse you may come in as a capt. 6 years and squadron officers school (SOS) to become a major.
As a doctor you still have to do SOS for major, and commanders school

An MD will normally enter the service at a higher rank than most others, but as a Captain or Major, you would have to be something specal (like a brain surgen) before you would get birds to put on your collar.

first, go to college to be a doctor or nurse, then you can attend an ROTC program and they'll commission you upon graduation as a Lieutenant or a Captain if you're an MD

Contact a USAF recruitment office and follow precisely what they advise you to do. If you want it bad enough you will take the necessary steps to achieve this goal.

i believe you have to go to an r.o.t.c. course to become an officer in the military and you have to enlist as well and if they have nursing in the military then you can take that up as your course in training as well or just go to college and major in nbursing and then go through the process that i mentioned
