Unless you are going just to shop and nothing else, one month really isn't even long enough for those 3 more or less adding others on.

I agree with the other posters - you are trying to cram too many places into a very short space of time - common mistake of American tourists the first time around, given they think Texas is the biggest placed on earth! Explains why they keep coming back.

Allow at least three weeks in Australia, one - two weeks in New Zealand and then do Fiji, Vanuatu and other pacific islands on another trip next year.

Remember how many days you are going to lose getting from the USA to here in the first place.

Buy an Aussie Pass airfare - cheaper and includes domestic sectors.

Six American friends recently visited - two weeks in Australia alone, nearly killed themselves rushing about and didn't get to see half of what they would have liked to see.

Malaysia - 1us - approximately 3.4 MYR I guess...

The locals speak English and don't worry, you'll get your Starbucks and Coffee Bean. We don't have Wal-Mart nor Target but we have Carrefour and Tesco growing like mushrooms here so you don't have to worry about food if you don't like the local food (mostly spicy and oily stuff that tastes real good). Shopping wise is great, though I'm pretty sure you are not gonna buy Gap or Nikes when you're here. Head-off to the inner states than the capital, i.e. Kuala Lumpur.

Well, head to Sabah after the KL visit, if you insist. Sabah is a state in the East (North Borneo) if you want to see a different paradise/city, and if you're sick of the words Thailand and Bali. Trust me, you won't regret being away from all the cliche tourist spots. I'm form Sabah, FYI. Rich in timber, waterfalls, water sports, seafront resorts like Karambunai and Shangri-La. Definitely super rich in cheap, delicious seafood. Come only if you know someone here so they will bring you to the best and not the most expensive just to earn your American dollars. Again, there's McDonald's and KFC around just in case.

Have fun, sorry as I have too much to write and it's getting late. Cheers and happy holidays in advance.

you've got a lot to do there already.. one month isn't *that* long..

i would suggest a week and a half in both auzzie and NZ... and spend the remaining week chilling in fiji before you go home!

you could always go to other islands like rarotonga, western samoa or vanuatu.

western samoa is beautiful and vanuatu is a gem as well.. brilliant for snorkeling or diving especially.

if you're looking to get the most out of your dollars... then NZ will be the best exchange rate - the australian dollar is stronger and depending on what islands you go to, their exchange rate will be somewhere inbetween the NZ and auzzie dollar.

You have 1 month? I wouldn't go anywhere else! You've chosen 3 countries already. I would spend maybe 2 weeks in Australia, 1 in NZ and 1 in Fiji. Or maybe you don't even need 1 week in Fiji.

I mean in Australia alone you can go to
Sydney, Melbourne, or any other big city
Alice Springs/Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Darwin/Kakadu
Great Barrier Reef/Cairns (North Qld)
etc etc.
There is so much to see and do, don't cram too much in.

You will find even with a good exchange rate your dollar won't go as far in Fiji and NZ as it does in Australia. Slip Malaysia in as well!
