Have you ever bought a lottery ticket and included your e-mail address?
And if you've won a cool half mil do you really think the lottery people are going to contact you via e-mail?
I guess what I'm really trying to say is : NO! Its fake! delete the e-mail and step away from the computer

HI there
I would say not, when these things come up their generally a scam. If you are able to click on it and you do so, it could take you to a site which will ask you for details which should definitely not be given as these will be usewd to scam you.

Ah that would be the Canadian Lottery - strange you don't remember buying the ticket. Still you've won £500,000. What's that in Canadian Dollars? Now all we need you to do is send us £500 so we can relaease the funds to you. Thanks very much - there's one born every minute.

No. Alot of websites just tell you that kind of stuff to either get your credit card information or to put spyware in your computer.
