Brugges is called " Venice of the North ".
It's very old and very beautiful .
The old part of the City is kept the way it was build .
There no way you can change the front of any building .
You can remodel the inside of any property , but you can not change anything on the outside as I said .
It's a really must see in Belgium .

Bruges is beautiful, little Venice in Belgium :) I also recommend Antwerp - great place to party! Ghent and Leuven - fabulous University towns. Of course there are so many great cities in Belgium. And the nice thing about Belgium is that it is in the heart of Europe, train connection is excellent and it's very easy, comfortable and not expensive to travel to neighbor countries.

If you like a little romantic city full of historical buildings you will like it! And of course you are in Belgium, the beer country and good restaurants...

And from Bruges you can easily visit some other historical cities, like Gent, Brussels, Antwerpen,...
