Keep a food log of EVERYTHING he eats and how much he eats. DO this for at least a week. When you go back to the doctor, show them the log. Note on there when he has thrown up and make them listen to you. Being a mom for the first time doesn't make you stupid but some doctor's can make you feel that way. Good luck and I hope he gets better soon.

I wouldn't think this is normal at all.... you have a right to be worried... and it's not that you are a first time mommy. We were giving our son stage 2 formula mixed with reg. milk at the time of our 12 month appt.... and the doctors said we don't need to give him stage 2 anymore.... I had given it to him because I wasn't sure if he still needed those vitamins (but they said whole milk and the food he eats should cover all of that)... I don't know too much about the soy milk- but I think your son would be ok with reg. soy milk and not the formula... see if that helps his tummy a little. I'd also write down everything he eats and when he's getting sick, so you can show the doctors. And if you think it's a reaction to a certain food, limit what you give him to only the things you know won't make him sick.

I'd also go seek another doctor. I know it must be a pain, but they shouldn't shrug it off as to you being a first time mommy. Demand they tell you why he has done this since birth. Let them know he's under weight because he's getting sick all the time, and you want to correct this. They should tell you what to do- that's what they are there for. There could be something wrong with his stomach-not being able to keep food down... our baby rarely threw up- only a couple of times... I know some do that more often... but if you notice any blood, or it's projectile, they always said get to the doctors.

Goodluck

YES! Have them test him for infections, specifically an *H. Pylori* infection. There are two muscles in your stomach, one at the top and one at the end. Whenever food is put into the stomach, the bottom muscle is supposed to relax and open completely. In my daughter's case, it was infected (through the bodies own bacteria) and it stayed closed and wouldn't allow her to digest anything. This made her lose weight and she puked ALL the time, and it was projectile. She was hospitalized for a week, with all sorts of antibiotics and medications. They kept telling me the same thing, puking was normal, and I was an over reacting first time mom. Finally my doctor believed me and ran tests, which is the only way they figured it out and they double checked with an upper G.I. done. I would get a second opinion, or tell your doctor you are going to if he/seh doesn't help you. It is extremely RARE in infants and children, usually adults get it and it passes without any major complications because you bascily always feel full and don't eat as much for a while. Not too damaging for an adult ya know. Get it checked! My daughter was a different person after that and didn't throw up once. Good Luck! Oh and to add...yes, they told me she had reflux and put her on zantac too....that did nothing but make her gag because it tasted like crap anyways, and they 10 minutes later she threw it all up too. Just so ya know, it can be mistaken.

The first 4 years of my daughter's life I did not go one week without cleaning up vomit. She was never underweight though. We found out a year ago that she has asthma and also has allergies to several things and the puking stopped. If you have taken your child to three different doctors and they can't find anything wrong I am not sure what to suggest. Have you ever taken your child to an allergist? I would hope so since you know he is allergic to eggs, dairy, and peanut butter. If you have never taken him to an allergist you should try that. He could have an unknown allergy that is effecting him.

You might try feeding him in smaller amounts but more times throughout the day. Feed him like half of what he normally eats then feed him the other half about an hour later. It might help him by letting some of the food digest first. I know it is a pain to do things like that but it beats having to clean up throw up.

My son threw up a lot too and he was my first but the doctors suggested that I give him smaller more frequent meals. Like instead of 3 big meals a day give him 6 smaller meals, this way his stomach isn't as full and he will be less likely to throw up. Try it and see if it works. It helped my son.

32 years ago my son did the same thing, starting at birth. DR.'s put him in the hospital with IV's and everything. It was horrible. They never could find a reason. I took him to an old time DR. and he told me to put him on Goat's Milk (Believe it or not you can buy it in a can at the store.) And it worked, he stopped the vomiting and grew up very healthy.

You may want to look into the possibility that he may have Celiac Disease. My daughter threw up a lot as a baby and it turns out that we both have Celiac Disease. Check into www.celiac.com and see if anything there hits home for you.

I would get a second opinion. Projectile vomiting is not normal. I would contact another doctor and see what they say.
