I have seen a question on here just recently about where in the bible it states that homosexuality is a sin/against your god's word. I also saw people quoting Leviticus. Now, in previous questions, Christians have stated that the Old Testament (where Leviticus is from) is pretty much null and void, since it has more old world views on things.
Now, why is ok to use Leviticus as a reason to shun homosexuality, but when people quote things out of the Old Testament to prove hypocracy and error, you say it doesn't count?
Also, in your religion, are you brought up to hate homosexuals and condemn them to hell? Isn't that your god's job? Aren't you supposed to love thy neighbor, regardless of race, sexual orientation, or religious belief?
Finally, is it the religious view that AIDS and HIV were brought on by your god to kill homosexuals? Do you still believe that it is passed through homosexual sex? What is the religious view point on the people who have gotten it else where?

Yes, you only hear true hypocrites preaching against same-sex marriage. You know, the ones who say "LGBT never have long-term relationships" and then bar them from having long-term relationships . . . .
Since marriage rights are given by the STATE, such as taxation and adoption, religion should have no say in such matters. This country was founded on the separation of church and state, as attested to by Jefferson's papers of 1802.
I think those who say LGBT people aren't "natural" since they "can't have children" are bigoted and ignorant in two regards -
1) they conveniently ignore the IVF technologies of the last 40 years, and
2) they cruelly slam all infertile couples and those who choose not to have children.
True Christians work for equal rights for all. Hypocrites and mock 'christians' preach bigotry, hatred, discrimination and therefore violence against LGBT people. Which group is acting more like Jesus, you know, the guy who was all about loving one another and treating each other as you would like to be treated?
p.s. Show me all the things that Jesus said against LGBT people. NOT the bigot Paul.

Some Christians don't understand the whole NT/OT (New Testament/Old Testament) thing. When Christ came, he fulfilled the OT law for all...this is different from making it null and void. Though we no longer have to offer up burnt sacrifices to God as the Jews once did, we must still live by the basis of the law as found in the OT. It serves as a foundation for what we find in the NT. Christ himself, in the NT, often references the OT...including the Ten Commandments which are found in the OT. Why would he do that if they were no longer valid?
Now as to homosexuals, many folks don't understand the "love the sinner, hate the sin" concept. You can still love thy neighbor while rejecting some of his/her behaviors. God never states that He hated homosexuals either. It is the homosexual act (the behavior) that God finds to be an abomination. BTW, the Bible does not mention all the "regardless of..." stuff. But I believe that to be true and applicable.
As for AIDS, nobody can say as to whether or not God brought this about...but He certainly allowed this to happen. It IS clear, through research, that a gay man (an airline steward) brought AIDS into this country from Africa back in 1972. Homosexuals have been documented to have, on the average, a more promiscuous lifestyle...so it is no surprise that the number of AIDS cases runs rampent with them. If you study why/how the HIV virus is passed from one person to another, you'd understand why anal intercourse carries a much higher possibility of spreading the disease than straight (vaginal) intercourse. It is much more difficult for a straight man to contract AIDS than a gay man...or a straight woman, for that matter. Think about it for a minute. But the bottom line is that if you stick with one partner, sexually, who does not have the disease, you're not going to get it. In Biblical terms, this means not commiting adultry, which is one of the Ten Commandments. Interesting how that works, eh?

The Bible does not state that all homosexuals are condemned to hell and it would take an ignorant person to state such a thing. However, homosexuality is not only condemned by God in the Old Testament but in the New Testament as well.

So you start out not even realizing that the majority of non christian religion are actually atheist then!!! ATHEIST - someone who does not believe in a God – any God – not just the Christian one. But that does not mean they do not hold strong moral or religious beliefs! They can follow any religion that does not have a god and there are a lot of those!! I think your question smacks more of desperation, ignorance and intolerance than any desire to seek enlightenment! Just try reading a small sample of Christian postings on here!!! Intolerant, egotistical, hate filled and bigoted!! Eschewing education, science, evolution works of fiction and much, much more. Christians are the only religion opposing human rights and persecuting gays, pro choice and so much more - but far worse whilst they demand freedom of religion they deny it to all non Christians and persecute them!!! Just how are you going to get them to tolerate anyone else's ideas?!!!! Forget the loving and forgiving god they abandoned that a long time ago!!!

The Old Testament is not null and void...the Messiah came to fulfill the law not to abolish it. (Matt 5:17)
No place in scripture does it say to hate a person. God hates sin, any sin, not sinners. If God hated the sinners He would not have sent the Messiah for us. God hates the sin of gossip or coveting just as much as the sin of immorality. If you belong to a church that teaches hate run, don't walk, to the nearest exit.
We are called to love one another and leave judgement to God.
I do not believe AIDS or HIV are a judgement against homosexuals anymore than cancer is a judgement against smokers.
Some "Christians" need to read the scripture a little more often and not be so quick to call everything "judgement". I once had a "friend" tell me my grandson's terminal birth defect was God's judgement for my daughter having sex before marriage....how nice coming from a woman who was divorced & remarried.
As scripture states...we all need to take care of our own sin before calling our brother out because of him (very roughly paraphrased Matt 7:3-5)

okay, the old testament is not null and void. if it was it wouldn't be in the bible. the old testament is when we were under the law- we had to make animal sacrifices to cover our sins, there was a temple with a thick curtain separating us from god and only a temple priest selected by god could approach Him. the old testament was under the law but after Jesus died for our sins we were no longer under the law, though obeying the law is still in effect, i.e. the ten commandments. so the principals of the old testament are still very relevant.
okay, now for the hateful part of your question. different people believe different things, weather they are christian or not. some people are hateful and spread discontent and malice. it's not right and it's not fair, but that's the way it is. all families have things that they raise their kids to believe that are not right. i don't care who you are, no one is perfect, no family is perfect. in that light, there are christian families that do things that are wrong. just like anyone else.
so another check in the 'stop lumping everyone together' box.

God simply said that "man shall not lay with man as they women." And I don't know which religion or who said that AIDS was created by God to kill homosexuals when actually AIDS was first discovered only in monkeys in Africa until a man had sex with one of the monkeys and contracted the disease. And Christians do not hate homosexuals we just don't AGREE with their lifestyle. And no sin is greater than the other so as long as homos repent for their sin then they can be accepted into Heaven. But most homos will not repent because they do not believe that they are living wrong in the eyes of God so not many of them will go to Heaven. This is why most people say that homos are condemned to Hell. God Bless.

Corinthians and Romans in the New Testiment brings it up again, but you are basically correct and we must face facts that Romans and Corinthina talks not only against fornicators but those people who eat meat with them and know them!
This brings to mind Jesus and Mary Magdeline.
The things if it is, do people follow Jesus or Peter and Paul.
I don't follow the religion of Paul.

no we are not brought up to hate homosexuals, it is a sin just like any other, lying, cheating, coveting. good Christians love everyone and dont hate the person, we dislike the sin they commit. we dislike every sin, even the ones that we commit everyday. no, we( or I) do not view AIDS as a punishment to those who are gay, it is something that happens, just like cancer. the choices we make, or the ones we didnt, can cause it. as for the old testament, there are things that still apply today, but as for the things that Jesus took care of when he died on the cross, like sacrificing animals for the forgiveness of sins, no longer apply.

Well, as a Wiccan I believe "An it harm none do what ye will". Harming none includes yourself. So, I don't believe there's anything "wrong" with homosexuality, unless that individual is not taking the steps required to protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases. Of course, I also believe it is "wrong" for heterosexuals to do nothing to protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases, or any other person regardless of sexuality who does things harmful to themselves and others.
This doesn't mean that I "judge" or "condemn" them for their actions, merely that it saddens me that they aren't caring for themselves, and concerns me that any person, regardless of sexuality, could be spreading diseases to others through lack of caring. It is people's actions that cause me concern, not their sexuality. In the end I don't believe homosexuals are harming anyone simply by being, so why would I have a problem with them?
