I love Applebee's Queso dip....I've looked online at the copycat recipe sites with no luck. Does anyone here know how I might be able to duplicate the taste at home?? It would save me time and money as I go by the restaraunt a few times a week to get an order of queso and chips to go...LOL

Queso Blanco

1 c Asadero cheese; shredded *
4 oz Jalapenos, chopped;
-drained, OR
4 oz Poblanos, deveined &
-julienned
1/4 c Half & half
2 T Onion; finely chopped
2 ts Cumin, ground
1/2 ts Salt

Heat all ingredients over low heat, stirring constantly,
until the cheese is melted. Serve warm with tostaditas.



Chili Con Queso Dip

Ingredients

(2 servings)

1 tb Butter
1 pn Cumin
4 oz Chopped green chilies
1 c Canned chopped tomatoes
1/2 c Chopped onion
1/2 lb Shredded jack cheese
1 ts Minced garlic
3 oz Cream cheese
1/4 ts Pepper
1 tb Chopped cilantro


Instructions

Microwave margarine on high for 30 seconds. Add next 5 ingredients, cover with plastic wrap (leaving vent) and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook 2 minutes. Add cheese and cook 1 minute. Stir and cook 1 minute. Stir in cilantro. Serve with tortilla chips. Makes 2-1/2 cups, 35 calories per tablespoon.

They use the canned cheese and they always change it cause i know because my cuz is the manager for the one in whitier
