No, but if you go to the place where they speak it or you start studying it again, you'll find that it is easier for you to pick it up again than someone who is learning it for the first time.

The brain is like a piece of furniture with different drawers. In the subconscious mind, the brain keeps the things we see and learn. The conscious mind would not be able to cope with all the information it contains so the brain just puts away some stuff not used for a while. Hypnosis has its risks and it's best to just try to learn the language again, even just speaking it with friends and it will come back really quickly.

I'm not sure if hypnosis would work but I do know that immersing yourself in the language again should bring it all back. Spanish was my first language however when I started school, I started to forget. I was then lucky enough to go across South America and I was amazed how quickly it all came back. After a few weeks I was by no means fluent but I was able to go out, have a few beers and still keep up a conversation.

When an individual undergoes hypnosis, doors to the mind that have been closed otherwise, open up, helping the person slip into a relaxed state of consciousness. Hypnosis, taps into the subconscious mind, the part of the brain that is active during repose. Your brain will be able to focus in this trance more than it can focus during other times of the day. Smokers, overweight people, etc. people with healt problems use this method. In answer to your query, based on that I believe that you can access the language that you knew as a child.

If you recreate, in your mind, the context(s) in which you learned the language, you may retrieve some of it from your memory. Hypnosis can help you to recreate the context and so assist with some recovery of the 'lost' information. Memory is not perfect however and it is unlikely that you will recover everything you learned.

If you start to re-learn that language, you are likely to find that your learning is quicker than for someone who has not learned it before.
