You should take the heavy jewelry off and go to a piercer and ask them to help you get a new barbell. Sometimes, though rarely, the bottom ball is not fixed in place or actually does come off.

If it hurts, you should change it and do it soon. The heavy jewelry can wear on the piercing and eventually cause a shallow piercing or may even reject out. Once you get new jewelry, clean the area with sea salt soaks and the soreness will go away.

I changed mine after like 2 days because the one I had in was hurting. If you change it put another one in immediately so you dont have it closing up on you. I dont like the dangly ones for the fact that they get caught on things much easier and when it gives a nice tug on there it is going to hurt bad if the piercing is new.

If the one you have in now is hurting you should definatly get a new one as soon as possiable but when you change it make sure to clean the area really well to avoid infection.

Just take the piercing out. I bet it looks horrible anyway.
