Prozac is very strong. It can make you feel very nauseated and kind of like you are having an "out of body" experience. You may seem distant to others.. especially at first. Lexapro seems to be much better, at least for me it is. Prozac can be a real downer if you aren't careful. If you can't handle the symptoms I would talk to my Dr. right away about changing it. Don't wait. A lot of people can't handle the side effects of it.

At first it levelled out my mood swings, but then I could not concentrate and never felt more anxious in my life. I found out later that those were the most common side effects of prozac.
Apparently suicide rates were increasing with prozac users, so a law was passed prohibiting prozac prescriptions lasting for more than thirty days. Careful monitorig of yourself while on prozac is important. My doctor took me off it right away and I have never used it since. Water aerobics and yoga were great replacements.

Not really, i hear it helps other people but it balanced my mood so severely it made me have the personality of a wet mop. I didn't feel up or down just didn't care about anything. Then my doctor switched me to Wellbutrin.
