adding too much flour, not kneading the flour enough into the dough-dont overknead if thats the case- it might not have been evenly distributed, you didn't cook the dough 3/4 of the way before putting it in again with the rest of the ingrediants, you undercooked it... there are a number of reasons, look at a pofessional pizza dough/cake batter recipe and compare it to the one you used... with a cake you might not have mixed it enough- again don't overmix- too much flour, too little of other ingrediants...

If you add too much flour or not enough of the required liquid then you get the flour taste.
also if you use too much in your pan for the cake or the board when dusting for the pizza you get the same thing

The flour was not sifted-this is a very important step, it aerates the flour so it bonds to the other ingredients and it makes for a better balanced cake. It is important to measure flour after sifting to prevent over flouring a cake. Good Luck!

Probably because the flour in it was not completely cooked.
It would be due to either insufficient cooking time or low liquid content in the batter/dough or both.
