Those are called cross trainers. Chances are your burning not more than 300 cal each time you work out, which is probably less than you consume in one meal. Try to up to an hour, adding 5 min every week or two. The point is, you probably wont see much difference or it will be a slow change. It IS great for your heart though.
Also, you need to do some weight training. Your body will burn more calories while youre sitting around the house.

It all depends on what you are trying to achieve.
Any exercise is better than doing nothing, even if it is 20 minutes a day.
If you only have 20 minutes, make sure you are moving at a high intesity rate for the entire 20 minutes. The key is getting your Heart Rate up!
If you are trying to lose weight, you need to remember one key thing - it takes 3500 calories burned to lose 1 pound. It comes down to input vs output.
You should also add in some amount of weight training. It will help you look more tone and build muscle. The more muscle the higher your resting calorie burn rate!
Doing moderate-level activities often will help lower your health risks. If you want to attain a high level of cardiovascular fitness, you need to gradually work up to exercising on most days of the week for 30-60 minutes at 50-80 percent of your maximum capacity.
Good Luck!

That would help, if you still eat right. You'll get better results if you increase the time until you're getting 5-6 hours a week of strong exercise. You should try to work harder until you're at the point where carrying on a conversation is difficult because you have to stop to breathe.

If it's more than you are doing now, and you watch your diet with it you will most definitely see an improvement done the line. Don't however expect to see a change in like a month. You will start to fell better, but physical change will come a few weeks later.

Anytime you add exercise to your daily routine you will notice a difference. Starting with a twenty minute workout is good. Over time you will be strong enough to do maybe work your way up to 45 minutes. Will you see results immediately.. No, but over time you will especially if you watch your diet. I hope this helps. Take care.

Thats called an elliptical machine. Yes you will probably see some difference as long as you are eating a balanced diet low in fat as well.
