I followed a great receipe on making a pot roast in a crockpot however when it was done the meat was very bland. no flavor at all in the meat. I added spices and rubbed it into th meat the night before. One thenig that I did do that was not in the receipe was to brown the meat prior to placing it in the crockpot. the potatoes and other veggies picked up the flavor of the seasonings and liquids that I put in. Need help in getting the meat to taste better.

dont brown the meat before, let the ingrdients cook together so that the flavors blend, also use a flavor injector and inject the seasonings under the skin or top layer of the meat... if you don't have a flavor injector then do a small, neat cut under the skin or top layer of the meat and rub the seasonings on there and also add some to the liquid it all cooks in...

Put your Roast in a skillet and sear it on both sides till just brown to lock in the flavor . Then in the crock pot put in 1 package Lipton onion mushroom soup mix and 1 12 can of coke regular not diet whisk this together and add the roast then cook it for around 8 hours it is so tender and very good also it has its own gravy . When I fix this I always have mashed potatoes with it thats all you need unless you would like some salad or slaw hope you will try this recipe it is really good I got it from a church that has special meals monthly.

It sounds like you didn't follow a great recipe. How can it be a great recipe if you didn't like the meat? I never brown the roast when I do the crockpot pot roast, and it always turn out great.
Another thing you can do is 'inject' the flavor in the meat.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://biturl.im/aU5Tg

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Look here Joe, you dont need to brown the meat, you dont need to inject anything. Crockpot meals are suppose to be easy and 1 step. Heres the trick...Just throw your meat, potatoes and veggies in the pot, add your water and add about half a packet of McCormicks beef stew seasoning to the water. End of Story. It comes out AMAZING and nobody ever knows how simple it was. Good luck!

it should have, did you add too much water? i brown my roast on both sides like you did, add a little dales seasoning and some beef broth, my veggies but i put it in the oven. i set the oven at 450 and bake for an hour, then turn it down to 300 and bake for at least 3. i don't use a crockpot but maybe its the heat...does a crockpot get really hot or is it a consistent but low heat?

when you let in marinade overnight, use a knife to poke holes in the meat to ensure that the flavor soaks in. You don't have to brown it first.. I never do. I think it kinda defeats the purpose of a crock pot.

I would recommend browning the meat to seal in juices and seasoning flavors before you start the slow cooking process.

You skipped one of the most important parts the browning. Browning it sears in the juices and flavors and ensures tender flavorful meat.
