I actually feel a bit sorry for Becky Fischer, who trustingly let the cameras in. At the same time, I cried for those kids when I watched that movie, so I won't cry for her or her camp.

What do y'all think?

I think Becky Fischer thought she was doing "God's work" and I do pity her. But...David Koresch thought he was doing "God's work" too.

Jesus Camp was psychologically damaging, not just to the kids, but to the future of my country. Anything that fans the flames of intolerance and fanaticism isn't good.

Hopefully we are turning a corner towards tolerance and intelligence in the country.

I missed the film, but I agree with Steph W. The mainstream media has a bad habit of presenting the worst of anything in an effort to get ratings. One man with a camera can do worlds of good or tonnes of damage. It's all in how the tale is spun.

That said, I don't approve of brainwashing in any form, and from what I have read of Jesus Camp (from impartial sources), that is exactly what was going on there.

Oh, and does anyone else see the irony in holding Jesus Camp at Devil's Lake?

I kinda feel sorry for her. I never trust any kind of documentry like that. Anyone can cut film to show the worst of anyone. And her property was vandulized because of her trusting cameras.

I don't agree with the camp, but I do feel sorry for her. I can take a camera and film, say, a Wiccan gathering (or Catholic, or Jewish or what have you. I picked Wiccan because I know they are peaceful and have some beautiful, if not misunderstood by the general public, practices). If I cut and paste that film right, I can make the wiccans look like the best people in the world, or like a bunch of drooling loonies. AGain, I'm not saying that the camp is right, but I don't think it was as bad as the film made it out to be. It's all in how you present it.

I saw a video of that place yesterday I was scared.

Their is a line between religious education and brainwashing this crossed that line.

the statement who here wants to die for Jesus scared me the most.

I dont care what your religion is children at that age should not be taught about death and dieing for any reason unless it is necessary (death of parent). To teach a concept of martyrdom to young minds is exactly what terrorist groups do to kids in Palestine so that they can be suicide bombers.

I see no difference between Becky Fischer's cry to 6 year old kids to be an army of G-d than I do to 6 year old kids on PLO TV saying that want to be a suicide bomber.

Teaching violence to young minds is cruel and evil because it robs them of their innocence at a time when they can still have it.

This has to be one of the single most disturbing things I have ever seen done by the church. It is wrong in SO many ways. It is like fanatic training camp.

And what do extreme fanatics turn into - thats right; Terrorists!

(terrorists are not just Muslims - they come form ALL relgions and walks of life!)

Wake up world - smell the coffee!

I think we are regaining our sanity. Haggard gets found out, Hovind goes to jail for being a fraud, the Democrats regain the house and senate, and Rumsfeld is finally let go... The closing of Jesus Camp is another step in the right direction.

That place was nothing but an incubator for child abuse. I'm so very happy it is no longer.

I'm not sorry. They were training these kids to be milliant in their beliefs. What if they might do something drastic in the name of God years down the road because of this if they don't get their way.

I am afraid that they will just move and set up again in another location. It is like fighting crab grass in a lawn.
