So your son has hernia & hyrodocoele? Children are usually given General Anesthesia during operations! Dont worry! Pray that his operation would be uneventful.
If your faith is strong then you wouldn't worry too much! Remember that He wont fail you & your child.

Wierd! I was born with a herniated belly button. I had umbilical repair when I was 4. It went fine. I would say not to worry but regardless it's your 4 year old son, I don't blame you for being worried. But truly it is very routine. I don't know anything about the hydra seal though.

I'm sure you're son will be fine. When I was 2 yrs old, I had to have ear surgery because I was born deaf because some fluid had built up in my ears and had hardened so it was like cement. They put in tubes to make the fluid drain better. Today I am fine and can hear wonderfully. I'm sure my parents got nervous when I had to go into surgery.

Dont worry at all. It is a routine surgery. You just have to take precaution about his moving around,ie he should be careful for few days.

I don't have any personal experience with this surgery in paticular, but while it is okay for you to be nervous (its your baby!), do not let your son sense this. Young children can sense apprehension and anxiety in their parents, and you don't want this to be a traumatic experience for him. Remain calm and do not let him sense your nervousness. I'm sure everything will be just fine. Good luck!
