I started feeding my kittens soft food at 2 weeks. They still nursed, but they also ate the soft food. At about 3 to 4 weeks, I mixed a few kibbles of hard food with the soft food and they began eating that well. At about 7 weeks, I seperated the kittens from the mother so the mother could dry up and then we made a trip to the vet to get her fixed.

they will prob start trying small amounts of wet food around 5 weeks although they will be up and into trouble very soon and as long as everyone is well leave them to decide when they start to change to solid food. i would suggest once they are walking taking mum and kittens to the vet for a once over and they can sex them aswel for you good luck kittens are so cute and dont let them go to new homes until at least 8 weeks even if they are weaned earlier they need to stay with their litter mates but can be seperated from mum at about 7 weeks if they still try to suckle her have fun

Aww they must be adorable. Two weeks is a bit young they would'nt be able to feed alone yet, or most of all use a litter tray, the mother teaches them all this stuff. I got my kitten at 5 weeks old and that was still to early for her. I herd that when they ahve been taken away from their mother too early they suck and claw things, my cat does this and they can do it for a lot of their lives it just a sighn that it was too early, and also befor they go they need to be able to do things like using the litter tray eating without the mother e.t.c.

Hope you find the awnsers that you are looking for.

Good Luck for the Future xx

WEANING KITTENS
For the first few weeks of their lives, kittens feed only on their mother's milk, but by about four weeks of age they will start to eat her food. At this time you can gradually begin to wean them. Kitten milk substitute or a moist kitten diet may be fed in a shallow dish. The kittens will need a diet that tastes good and is highly nutritious - a special, concentrated diet kitten diet is necessary for them. The queen may continue to suckle and clean her kittens until they are 6 to 7 weeks of age, but by then you should be providing them with 80 to 90% of their food requirements.

AFTER WEANING KITTENS
At about eight weeks of age a kitten is ready to leave its mother. Until the kitten is a year old you should give it as much as it wants to eat. most kittens will not over eat, If you feed a palatable, balanced, high energy diet your kitten should grow rapidly, and at about six months it will have nearly reached 75% of its adult weight. It is best to give growing kittens several meals a day, or to leave dry food down for them all the time. Kittens and adult cats should have clean fresh water to drink at all times. As the kitten gets older, feeding it milk may give it diarrhoea, and it is best avoided.

hope this helps

They should start eating some soft food about 3 weeks old. Give them some wet cat food then. They will beging crawling at about 2 weeks, walking at about 3 weeks, and running around all over the place at about 5 weeks. Rest now! You'll need the energy soon! Good luck!

They should start dragging their bellies around at about 3 - 4 weeks, and investigating food at around 5-6 weeks of age. Mine don't start to eat til about 8 weeks as it was getting plenty of milk from its mum. To encourage them to eat, if they haven't started by their 6th week, put a little jelly or gravy from some kitten food on your finger and put it on their mouth so they lick it off. It won't take them long to realise how good it tastes.

At about 4 weeks you can start giving the kittens small amounts of dry kitten chow moistened with water. Let it set and get really soft. They will be walking all over the place by then and you can hold them and all that kind of stuff. Make sure you give them a litter box once you put them on kitten chow. And dont forget water.

around 4 weeks they can eat if they have to - I rescued some very small ones that still had their bright blue baby coloured eyes, and they ate mushy wet cat food as I had nothing else to give them! They could only have been 4-5 weeks old
