about 10pounds or so.. and that is usually water weight in the first week... You probably will after that start loosing real weight and averaging 2-3pounds per week

I did this for a wedding a couple months ago, and in my personal experience it didn't do much and I felt like CRAP. I was quite lethargic, and my bowel movements were out of control. I also just didn't feel right. Then when I started eating normally at the wedding, I got sick...

Of course this is my own personal experience, but I just thought I'd give you a heads up as to what may happen... Also, you probably won't loose more than 5 lbs or so anyways, so if you need to loose more than that I'd just suggest to wear a different dress... And I know you say it's temporary for the one event, but just know that it will all come back in a couple days after you resume a normal diet.

Good luck!!

Great height but overweight! I believe you are breastfeeding since you just had a baby recently. I can understand your need to appear cute in that dress in a week. But it could be dangerous for both you and your baby to loose weight rapidly.

If you are concerned about giving your baby the best of breastfeeding, then you may give a second thought about losing weight at this time. Normally, their is a measure of weight that is required to maintain lactation in the postnatal period. You will definitely lose some weight from excess fluid accummulated during pregnancy.

Please think about your baby more at this time. Seven days is too short to achieve your aim. Just let it be for now. You are not trying to hide anything, are you?

That's a bad idea. Because once you start adding carbs back into your diet...you will put all the weight back on...PLUS more. It's a fact. You might lose a couple pounds in water weight, but in one week you aren't going to lose much fat.

Any diet that tells you to cut out an entire food group is a fad. I don't care that they have been around for a long time and people do lose weight on them---they will put it right back on. You can't live without carbs.

I dont know, but you will feel like death warmed up, and your breath will stink. You will also have bad headaches and be putting your kidneys under severe pressure because of all the protein you are taking in. there is also the issue of constipation....if you think a few pounds (of mainly water loss) is worth it go ahead. I would rather stick to a sensible BALANCED diet which includes the carbs essential to good health. And exercise. There is NO easy option for losing weight and keeping it off long term.

Carbs provide the body with glucose, which is the main fuel for the central nervous system, the brain. You need them for energy. You don't want to eliminate or avoid them.

Carbs also provide the body with fiber, which fills us up and can help us manage weight and gastrointestinal health, among other things.

As always, portion size is critical.

You will feel ill and your breath will smell funny if you avoid all carbs.

Why not try eating healthier, drinking lots of water and exercising.

Don't cut out the carbs! Just watch the carbs! Exercise is the main key here! This works for me and we are about in the same boat!

Probably none, becuase the whole no-carb diet thing is a bunch of crap.

You need to cut CALORIES, not carbs, to lose wieght if you aren't going to exercise.

probably not that much, are you going to exercise to? Weight loss is not instant, its a process. Maybe 10lbs a month with diet and exercise

try a cabbage soup diet you should lose 10-14 pounds in 7 days
Ingredients for Fat Burning Cabbage Soup
1 large head of cabbage
1 or 2 large cans of tomatoes

2 green peppers

1 bunch of celery (run through blender)

Season with salt, pepper, parsley, etc. If desired 1 pkt. Lipton onion soup mix or 6 bullion cubes

6 green onions

Directions

Cut vegetables into small to medium pieces and cover ½ way with water. Boil for 10 minutes, reduce to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. The cabbage soup can be eaten any time of the day. The cabbage soup will not add calories: the more you eat, the more you lose. Fill a thermos in the morning with the cabbage soup if you will be away during the day.

DAY 1.

You may eat all fruits except bananas. On the first day eat all the fruit you wish. (Cantaloupes and watermelons are lower in calories than most fruits). Eat only the soup and as much fruit as you wish.

Drink unsweetened tea, cranberry juice or water.

DAY 2

All vegetables are permitted. Eat until full with fresh or cooked vegetables of your choice. Try to eat green leafy veggies and stay away from dry beans, peas, or corn. At dinner time reward yourself with a large baked potato, buttered. Eat all the soup and vegetables you want; but don’t eat fruit.

Drink unsweetened tea, cranberry juice or water.

DAY 3

Mix days one and two. Eat all the soup, fruits, and veggies you want. No potato today or bananas.

Drink unsweetened tea, cranberry juice or water.

DAY 4

Eat only bananas and skimmed milk. Eat as many as 8 bananas and drink as much skimmed milk as you can, along with your soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates, proteins and calcium, and will lessen your craving for sugar and sweets.

DAY 5

Today you may eat beef or skinless grilled chicken and tomatoes. You may have 10-20oz of beef, and a can of tomatoes or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes. Drink at least 5-8 glasses of water to wash away the uric acid. Eat your soup at least once today.

Drink unsweetened tea, cranberry juice or water.

DAY 7

Today, on the final day of the Cabbage Soup Diet, you may eat brown rice, unsweetened juices and vegetables. Again, stuff yourself and be sure to eat your soup at least once today.

Drink unsweetened tea, cranberry juice or water.
