It isn't too hard to learn. Spanish is the easiest. But german is actully easier than english. If you have a good CD that teaches German. I really liked A+ german. You can learn lots of words. It is best to have a teacher or someone who speaks it to help you get the hang of pronounciation. If you have opportunity to speak it with someone you are more likely to learn it and retain it. A language that you do not get to use is of no benefit. I learned it and didn't have anyone to speak it with , so I've forgotten a lot of it. My daughter learned spanish and has someone to speak it with so she has become fluent with it.

I had a remarkably easy time learning German, but most people do not. The beginning grammar and vocabulary is quite simple, the more advanced stuff gets somewhat tougher, but is hardly used in spoken German these days anyway.

I don't think Latin really helps with German grammar. I am also quite good with Latin and see little similarity between the two. And Kingderjingver isn't German, I believe it is Danish.

Personally, I believe German is handy and plenty of amusing. I've been finding out French additionally, and I uncover German to be extra tricky grammatically than French or English, however in a well approach. How you order your phrases in a sentence could be very bendy, and the pronunciation is lovely handy, less complicated than French. It's very easy and constant, so you should have no problem with it. If you desire a language less complicated than German, pass with Swedish or Norwegian. Once you get beyond a few pronunciation quirks, they are lovely handy.

It is much easier then you think! English as we know it is a Germanic langauge(study the history and you will know it to be true) So, if you just pay attention the the spelling and grammer rules it is very easy! So, here is something for you to see if you can get it. Remember these rules in german a D = an english TH. and Kunde means study. So what does Erdkunde mean?

Earthstudy- or the study of earth ie Geography!

Okay I learnt German and it wasn't very difficult, I actually had good grades. But I'm not a typical case, since I'm Portuguese, and was also learning English, French and Latin. This one, Latin, helped enormously with some features of German grammar. The most difficult thing for me in German was those very long, compounded words.

Blakenyp, a word for you: declensions.

"Hardness" is different for different people. German kids pick it up just as quickly as English kids pick up English. Adults who only speak English do often have a hard time with German as the construction is completely different to English, but if you have an open mind, treat it as a game and have a desire to learn you can pick it up as easily as any other language.

I have lived in Germany for 10 years now. I didn't really begin to get a feel for the language until I was intigrated into the culture. I know of this great program that will help you learn the Germany language. The program is from Rosetta Stone, check it out!!
