I got mine pierced about 5 years ago and it hurt like HECK!!!!! It was TERRIBLE pain. It hurt for about 3 months and it never heals correctly.
I took mine out 3 years ago.
I regretted doing it and plus after a few years it gets boring + you start feeling like just another number because everyone else has it.
I cant tell you what to do but I can tell you from personal experience that I would not do it again.
Now I have an ugly scar + hole that still has not closed after 3 years.
Our body's are so special and I would never harm it with another piercing.

I had mine pierced twice in the past. The pain is just relative to what you can handle. I did it without so much as flinching both times, but I've seen people tear up when having their navels pierced.
Make sure that you have it professionally done! A professional will use the right (sterilized) tooling, which will decrease the chances of infection or scarring. Having it done professionally also hurts less than doing it yourself, since they're experienced in body piercings. It's usually over with before you know it.
Make sure that you follow the aftercare instructions your piercing artist gives you. And it would help to wear loose clothing until the piercing has had some time to heal. My first navel piercing, I tried wearing jeans and nearly pulled the barbell out when unbuttoning my pants once. That was actually more painful than it was getting the piercing.

Pain is relative and all piercing hurt to an extent. Navel piercings aren't that bad, most people just get too worked up about it. The key is to relax, listen to the piercer and take deep breaths. It'll be done and over with in seconds and you'll be ready to go. Over the next week after getting it done there will general soreness, but nothing Motrin or Advil can't take care of
Be sure to take very good care of the piercing, keep the area extremely clean so you don't get an infection and don't cause keloids or migration (those are often the more painful parts of getting a piercing.)
I have 6 navel piercings, did 4 myself and if they hurt THAT bad, I wouldn't have done it. You'll be fine

That did not hurt as much as my ears being pierced. Just put witch hazel or peroxide on it every day to keep it clean.
It did not hurt at all when it was first pierced but it hurt when I slep on my tummy until it healed. IT took about two weeks to heal after a month i started to use different belly button rings

It didn't hurt badly at all; a little less than peircing my ears. It only hurt for a few days after that, and now it only hurts if it gets caught on something, which is not fun. DX
You'll need to do research into care for it though, if you haven't already, as they need a lot of different treatment than usual ear piercings.

Depends on your pain threshold. I got one and it was like getting a shot.
Keep in mind that you can't take it out. I ended up letting mine close up because it bothered me when I slept. Just something to think about.

The immense pain lasts for several days and there is the chance of infection where they'll have to amputate your belly button.
