Yes, but it depends on where you live. Some towns have natural gas pipelines that homes tap into during construction, or sometimes they even convert to gas from electric stoves/heat, but that is expensive.

I have a gas stove/oven and I am madly in love w/ it. I don't know how I ever got along w/ the electric one. cheers!

Yes, tens of millions of homes have gas piped in for heating and cooking. Some only have electricity to do both jobs.

the majority have some type of gas for heating and cooking , some are all electric , in the cities the uses natural gas and in the country if not on city service they general have a propane tank outside and it is what we use for heating and cooking ....

Sure, but not everyone. When I was a kid we still had the propane tank in the backyard and everything was mostly electric. Now I fork over money to PG&E for gas stove, heat, and water heater.

Yes, gas is run into houses during construction. Heating, cooking and for clothes dryers.

from gas tanks on property we buy from gas company's they come out and fill up at certain intervals used for heating and cooking (propane gas) not every home has this. people are converting from gas to electric its a personal preference

Natural gas would be piped in, propane gas would be delivered and then stored in a tank.
