I was seriously considering the bypass surgery, and then I went to my doctor, and she told about all of the dangers of bypass surgery. She told me she would refer me to a surgeon, but asked me to try something else first. Here it is:

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Same answer is always right.......

Cut your calories and exercise more. This is the safest method. It may not be the "fastest" or easiest, but it is the safest way.

Fasting won't work except to lose 5-10 pounds quickly. You can't fast and lose 100 pounds.

Gastric bypass is cheating. Any moron can lose weight that way, but most people gain it all back later.

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

fasting is NOT an acceptable option.

if you want to honestly lose 100 pounds, you're going to have to make major and severe changes to your lifestyle in many ways. it's not the same as losing 10, 20, or even 40 lbs. in order to drop major weight like that, you either need to go with the bypass, or dedicate your entire life, every waking minute, to acheiving your goal weight. you will need to adopt a regular, intensive exercise regimen, along with a strict diet, with which there can be NO cheating.

Don't fast, eat healthily. Best diet is Weight Watchers. And exercise also. Try those two together first, you need to avoid gastric bypass as much as possible, surgery is serious stuff.

Change your lifestyle and do this forever. Drink lots of water, walk, run, or swim an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Eat fruits & vegetables.

No alcohol
no bread
no burgers
No candy
No chips
no corn
no fried foods
No pasta
No pizza
No potatoes
No sodas
No sugar

well 100 pounds is a lot of weight but if you put your heart you can do it just watch what you eat and drink plenty of water and exercises at least30 minuets a day. good luck
