Depends. What do you want it to mean? Is it your pet or a wild dove? I have had a pair of mating doves that are now 18 years old. They follow me all over the house and are quite loving and interactive birds.

It was a popular belief that the birds choose their mates on the feast of Valentine, their patron saint.
It is traditionally believed that a girl is able to tell what sort of man she will marry by the first bird she sees on St. Valentine's day.
Blackbird - Priest
Robin - Sailor
Goldfinch (any yellow bird) - a rich man
Sparrow - Farmer
Any blue bird - a happy man
Dove - a loving man
Woodpecker - will not marry
I know whether you saw the dove on valentines days or not but I found this interesting

wow, it could mean that someone that has passed is looking after you and/ or has a message for you. This is very positive and should be taken as good news.

Don't worry about the meaning, just worry about what it might drop on you. They say if it drops something on you it's good luck. Might not be though if you are on your way to impress someone
