I would be careful doing this. You don't want melted cheese stuck in your toaster. This is definitely the lazy person's way of making a grilled cheese sandwich. It only takes a few minutes more to do it right.

No, and you shouldn't either. You will leave parts of the cheese on the elements in the toaster, and can damage it. Toast the bread, and put the cheese on it as soon as it pops up. Just wait a minute for cheese to melt before eating it.

You put it in your toaster and ruin the toaster. I prefer toasting my bread takeing out and putting cheese on it on a plate and placing in microware for 3 secs and having a nice Cheese Sandwich...Cleaner and safter.
The iron comes in handy when you are traveling by car and stopping in motels we did that when we traveled last year.

YES, I use a toaster oven where you can place the toast flat with the cheese on top. and I always eat my grilled cheese with ketchup and chips

Never heard of that. I don't even think it would fit in our toaster. Do the old college trick of using an iron. It does work!

No, sounds like it would melt and ruin the toaster. I think the iron would be a better way to go.

What is so "ghetto" about that? It's called toasted cheese or cheese on toast and us "non-ghetto" folks make it as well.
