Your values, b/c if you don't want to have sex before marriage and he does, that's gonna cause a huge problem down the road. Also, honesty. If he's a known liar, how can you ever trust him. Humor is also important b/c if you don't have a sense of humor, you'll get bent out of shape at the silliest of things. Just being able to have someone to laugh with will solve a multitude of problems. Also, communication. I've found that I cannot have a relationship with someone unless they share my sense of humor. Trust, honesty, values, and some common interests also help. It really all depends on who you are, and what you value the most in another person.
