Of course you can. A lot of times you skin may be a little more sensitive during your period, but there are no extra risks added on to the general risks of getting a tattoo. As long as you are not taking blood thinning agents(certain medecines, alcohol, garlic/onions..) then you should not bleed more than usual.
Mine is sporatic, and everytime I schedule an appointment, it always falls on my period, it's different times, too. It't not fun. haha

It won't hurt anything, might I add, remember that the tat will be a part of your body for the rest of your life. Please make sure you get something that you will not be embarrassed about when you turn 65 years old, or let your children see, or if you have to cover it up for work you can. This is coming from a 54 year old with 7 tattoos that I love, cannot be seen when I'm dressed for work and my grand children think they are really cool. By the way I was 40 years old when I got my first one and the only names I have on my body are my grandchildren.

Yeah, why not? It shouldn't hurt or bleed more. The bleeding from your menstrual cycle is caused by the lining of your uterus. So unless you're getting a tattoo near 'that area', you're fine.

I've never heard of anything more stupid in my life. You bleed on your period because you are shedding the excess lining in your uterus from ovulation... not because you have excess blood in your body that's looking for any crevice to escape. Have some common sense.

wtf...it does not matter...if you have a heavy period then yes you are going to bleed more but your going to bleed the same amount even if you dont have your period.
The same goes for a light period...less blood lose when you get your tat done...i asked the same question when i had my tat done and the tat lady told me this same thing

Yes, you can. One suggestion that works: Take a couple of Advil a couple of hours before you go. My son's doctor told me this. If you have pain medicine in your system before a shot or tattoo, it doesn't have to work as hard to relieve the pain.

its like when you get waxed you shouldnt get it done a week before during or a week after your period because your hormones make your skin extra sensitive

It will not bleed any more than it normally would. Being on your period does not thin your blood. Go for it.
