Buddhism is not strictly a relgion in the usual sense it is primarily a ' Philosophy of Living', you can become a Buddist when you adopt this philosophy. Marriage nor anything else will make you a Buddhist only YOU.

you can marry a buddhist but you wont automatically become one thats up to you and the way you feel about your religion

Buddhism is about a kind of thought over and above any social identification it carries, which is why it continues to earn my respect despite its classification as Religion. If you want to become one for its own sake, you're probably not ready to be one just yet.

When you marry someone, i don't think you take on their religion too. If you follow their principles and stuff..then you can be Buddhist..

I think you need to study Bhuddism. It is not something you marry into. It is a deep meaningful change in your outlook. It is like any other religon. If you don't understand it there is no way you can consider yourself bound to it.
