I usually do that with my best friends, and if I don't, they'd think I got mad with them. Also I'd think there's something wrong if they don't say that to me. we say that frankly, and we feel happy to hear that. however, it is not acceptable to be told to some one who doesn't have strong relationship with you.

Most normal people would respect their friends choise, cos physical attraction is personal opinion. What matters is if the person is nice to them.

If I didn't find them attractive there's no problem cos beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Only the shallow morons will disagree with this.

I'd probably say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but they have a really great personality. I would never just outright call somebody's else's bf/gf ugly, b/c that might affect how that person views their mate after that and possibly ruin a perfectly good relationship, simply b/c I didn't like how they looked. I wouldn't want the guilt.

I would be tactful -- you don't want to lose a friend over something so trivial. And really, does it matter if you think she's attractive or not? You're not dating her, your friend is. If asked for my opinion, I might pick one nice feature about her and focus on that. For example, "You know she does have beautiful blue eyes that shine when she sees you." That both deflects the question, allows you to be honest without being cruel, and maintains a quality friendship. It is a win-win situation.

If my friend asked for my opinion on their partner I would concentrate on all the positives and not mention negatives (unless a real drop out or something really terrible). But if they said I reckon they look hot what do you think - I wouldnt lie about it - I would say 'I personally dont find him attractive, but each to their own' and eloborate if asked - like is short, has big nose, etc!!!

No. But I never felt my gf was unattractive. In fact, I was deadset and convinced that I was with the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen in my life. Then when we broke up, I was shocked to find out that she wasn't very beautiful at all and that I was just that smitten.

I think the best policy is to find something good about every individual - if asked you might say I think _____ has great eyes, hair, is funny etc that way you don't hurt the other persons feelings. Besides physical attraction is different in all of us. What I think is attractive you might not. We all are individuals.

Depends on how close you are. If you are really close you should be able to tell the truth with some sensitivity but then you should also point out the good things about her in the same breath (if he/she is really into this person). If you are not that close or its skeptical, keep your mouth shut. What does it hurt you if you do. Best thing to respond with then is hay who cares as long as you like her or yah, hmm, you know evade the ques.

No. There are far more important qualities than a person's appearance. There are attractive people who are very ugly beneath the surface. A mature person understands that.
