My ears itch like something tickling them from the inside, and my mom asked me if my equilibrium is off and it is, like I'm drunk, I'll just tip over sometimes. As funny as that sounds, I know you're laughing, I would be too, does anyone know anything about what causes this or something I can do about it?

Go to the doctor, just to be sure. Maybe try some over the counter ear cleaner. You could run some warm water in your ear and use a suction thing to suck out the yuck. My step dad does that and he gets out some really gross stuff. Sorry, TMI, lol.

Start By:

1) Clean ear canals gently with q-tips
2) Take note of the color of what comes out, yellow is normal
3) If you see a little bit of blood you have an infection in your ear canal, and it may have spread to your inner ear on at least one side
4) If they feel wet all the time inside that could also indicate an infection

Treatment: (Not meant to replace Dr.)
1) After bath or shower use about half a capful of rubbing alcohol and pour it in one ear, head tipped sideways. Wait 30 seconds, then use a clean towel to soak up the alcohol when you tip your head up. gently clean with q-tip. Then do the same on the other side. The first time it should tickle a bit, but won't sting too bad

2) Repeat twice a day for 2-3 days - This should clear it up, but the second day the alcohol will sting a bit more and the ear canal will feel drier

3) Keep fingers and other objects out of your ears. They introduce infection. Q-tips are not sterile and can cause infections, the alcohol will prevent this, so if you use q-tips often, dip them in alcohol first.

Why this works:
1) Alcohol kills germs, cuts ear wax, and evaporates water left over in the ear from swimming, showering, bathing, face washing, surfing, etc.

This is an age old cure for "swimmers ear", which is like getting chapped inside your ears, then getting infected. It is more common in people with diabetes and others with a low immune system, as well as swimmers, etc.

Prevention:
1) If this happens again, or often, you can repeat this treatment, but you should see a Dr. if it comes back more than 3 times.
2) Try to keep water out of your ears, and you can use the alcohol after swimming, showering, bathing or whatever. It causes the water to evaporate so you don't get chapping and infection again.

I'm not a doctor but it sounds like you might have an inner ear infection. Definetly something to call your doctor about. So go call....and don't drive yourself to the appointment or anywhere else. Don't want to take any chances, right? Good Luck, hope you feel better.

try using an ear cleaning bulb...you can get them in walgreens or any drug store..use some ear drops, wait a few hours and then shoot warm water up in them suckers....other than that you might want to see an ear, nose and throat specialist...
