I've been to Toni and Guys and wasn't at all happy with the service, I left with my hair in a worse state then when I went in. My friend went to Toni and Guy essensuals and they did really well with her hair. She's been going ever since and I went there to fix my a dodgy fringe, which I though was beyond repair, Fortunately it wasn't and they worked some kind of miracle that made it actually look good. I'll be ever grateful. Anyway, based on my experience, I'd say essensuals. But of course it does completely depend on individual hairdressers and how bothered or not they are with doing your hair to match the price.

Neither, toni & guys etc. have this great rep because they are a huge chain but they not all that great. Find a good indepentant salon in your area. p.s a friend of mine when to a toni & guy a few years back and the hairdresser cut her fringe so it stuck out, the woman licked her fingers and smoothed the fringe down with those fingers!! Not Good!!

Just about every other hairdressing salon is an improvement on Toni and Guy - Stylists that think that charging exorbitant rates and 'attitude' is enough to get them by; all we want them to do is to give us, poor clients, a decent haircut!!
Anybody else out there who is heartily sick of these prima donnas?

That would surely depend on the stylists in the individual salon. Ask around locally and see who gets their hair cut there. If they have a good cut and are happy ask for their stylists name.
