Btw, i don't mean how we refer to them - i mean, pictures, images, statuettes, whatever. What we SEE is female, even though what we READ is male.

Huh?? Angels don't sing?????

Revelation 4:8: "And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to sing 'Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come!".

That is a clear reference to the seraphim (angels) in Isaiah's vision, where the angels are seen singing the trisagion.

The Bible does not necessarily support the gender of angels being male or female. I do agree with you: Whenever gender is “assigned” to an angel in Scripture, it is male (Genesis 19:10,12; Revelation 7:2; 8:3; 10:7). This does not indicate that angels are male though. Matthew 22:30 is probably indicating that angels are “sexless.” If angels do not procreate, why would they need a gender? In a similar manner, God always refers to Himself in masculine language. God is neither male or female, however. He just uses masculine language because it more adequately describes who He is and what He does. If angels do have a gender, Scripture would indicate that they are predominately or universally male. It is more likely that angels are genderless, just as God is, and that masculine language is just used to describe them

Angels are neither male or female. If they wanted to take a human form, they chose male's form.

The first human that God created is Adam (male) then when He saw adam alone, God created female (Eve),but He created angels first then humans

If some people picture them (angels) as a kind and soft-spoken creature, they must be not reading the bible.

Angels are warriors of God, the guardians, the ones who had defeat satan the enemy of God and they can be firm not always what people think that they are soft and weak which potrays in the movies, book or anime (japanese cartoon), those are not real angels.

What you see, for the most part, is the world's view of angels, not the Bible's view of angels. Angels are full of light (blinding light) and mighty power. The are also spoken of in connection with strong, powerful winds. They are male in gender, not female. They are mighty warriors for God and are also His messengers.

The so-called angels you see everywhere are merely a wimpy, sick contrast to real angels. The "world's" angels are merely a figment of people's imagination. They are totally useless, as far as I am concerned.

They are always referred to as male in the bible because it was written by males who didn't think anything of females other than for procreation. If you think politics is an old-boys network now, that's nothing compared to the thinking in biblical times.

Angels are depicted as female now because angels are soft and kind, which are female characteristics. We don't assign those characteristics to males and if we do, they are not "normal" males.

Good point, also why do they have chicken-feather wings? There is no mention in the bible that any of the angels had wings, but so-called christians worship angels with wings.

I've always thought of them as being androgynous. But I suppose the artists thought the female form was prettier, and angels must be beautiful?

I've always thought Gabriel was a female angel, although I suppose that's not really the female spelling of the name.

The same reason that people think angels sing even though there is not one reference in the entire Bible to an angel singing. People just don't read their bibles.
