I need a song for our Christmas program and it has to be for two year olds, young ones! Something easy and repetitive with maybe actions or something. Any ideas would be appreciated and serious answers only please.

It's a Christian school so I was thinking more of Jesus songs. Anyone know any?

With preschoolers, I play "Away In A Manger" at Christmas on acoustic guitar. My wife does the hand motions that go with the lyric and the little ones really enjoy that. Even if they don't know the words yet, they can follow the hand motions and like being participatory in the fun.

Check on Mary Rice Hopkins' site... just look her up on the internet. She is a wonderful Christian children's singer, who has many incredible songs that can be scaled back for a two-year-old. I used to work at a church-run preschool, and I used her music for just about all of our programs. She has a brand new Christmas CD out, so now's a good time to get it. If you practice the songs everyday during circle time or music time, then the kids will pick it up (considering that they are all developmentally able to do so). Any songs that are very repetitive are great. (Like Jingle Bells). There is one song by Mary Rice Hopkins that stands out- Miracle. The chorus is; Miracle, I'm a miracle. I think that you'll agree, I'm unique as I can be. Miracle, I'm a miracle. You know that I am special, 'cause there's only one of me. This is easy enough for the kids to remember, and it really hits the "tearjerker" with the parents. Check out Mary Rice Hopkins for some really great Christian children's music!

Most Jesus songs aren't that easy to remember. Try CHRISTMAS songs.

I saw a lot of good ideas. Definitely Jingle Bells. I'd also recommend Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, as it has a lot of hand gestures.
(Point to your nose when you say the word, I'm not sure about all the other actions... make them up!! Children will follow!)
Also, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" is VERY repetitive. The children will love to sing that.

The might be able to get most of 'O Christmas Tree. Maybe they could do the repetitive part of a song sung by older kids (they chime in for the chorus).

Jingle Bells (although I'm not sure it's a Christmas tune) is always a fun tune to sing. I kind of wish we could sing Jingle Bells all year long.

Everyone thinks "silent night" is a good song, and it is, but it doesn't have that fun, sing along melody that kids seem to enjoy. Plus, not all kids are from Christian families, so by choosing "jingle bells" you circumvent that goofy issue.

Most definitely Jingle Bells. That's the shortest and most repetitave of them all. If it's a Christian program, Silent Night. Also short and repetitave.

Frosty the snow man was Jesus Christ's best friend
He stood there melting by the cross until the very end.

I don't know the names of any of the songs on it but what about Alvin & The Chipmunks? I remember a friend of mine said her little girl (at the time) LOVED it. You could probably find out about it on the net
