I am looking into re-decorating my bedroom and found a red and burgundy comforter set that I like which matches my sheer burgundy curtains that I already have in the room.

I am planning on painting the bedroom and am not sure what color would go well with red and burgundy as far as what color to paint the walls.

Any ideas?

well natural beige, or any colors with a hint of brown in them would go perfect with any darker shade of red.

but beiges and browns can get boring, unless you really like earth tones.

But, if you go to this website:

you can mix and match any colors you would want. and then when you find the perfect color, if you go to home depot, they will mix up the color for you.

I like cherry (lighter red but not lipstick red) and desert lily for trim, if my fabrics were burgundy and red. and i would use a poinsetta shade of red, for the window treatments. but it may be too much red for you. I love red.

A nice light creamy gold color will be good for the walls, with the trim picked out in a brighter shade of the gold tone. Using one of the paint ships at a hardware store, find a light golden color you like and then use the light color for the walls and the darkest color on the sample for the trim.

A painting tip from my time mixing paint, always start with the lightest color you think might work and slowly have them darken it until you get the shade you want. You can always make paint darker, you cannot make it lighter.

Green is a good accent color for Burgundy, but you should not paint your walls green. Green paint on the walls will actually make the light in the room appear green. It is only good if used as an accent for trim or the bottom portion of a chair rail.

go to the paint area and get some color card of red/Burgundy and take them home and start with the lightest color and see if you like the color on the wall You probably like colors in the peach; cream; or soft pink before you paint Just don't use a dark color it is hard to cover up if you want to change the color later on.

Good luck on finding the right color for you.

Cream, a rich blue, a forest green.

Take one of the shams with you to the paint store and hold the paint selector cards next to the sham to get an idea of what colors you like. Then buy a small amount of the color(s), paint a test patch (a 1 foot square) on your wall to see how the color REALLY looks. Look at it for a couple of days so you can see it under natural light and room lighting.

Tan is nice, but for a bold color, try gold or even a dark mustard yellow. Better yet, when you go to a paint store, bring a pillowcase that came with the set, and look at different paint samples to see what compliments best. Good Luck!

a pale color, like an off white, and will go with any decor that you use, so you can change decors and colors without having to pain every time. My living room is shades of bungundies and golds, but my walls are wood. but anywhere I have painted walls, have opted for off whites, only because it looks clean, bright, and goes with anything. Good Luck in whatever you decide to do.

My bedspread is burgundy/red. I used a cream color on my walls. Also moss green goes well with burgundy

oddly enough, a nice pale yellow goes very well with burgundy. I never woulda believed it, but the house I just moved into has a yellow bedroom and my drapes are burgundy. I expected them to clash, but they go nicely together, I'm gonna leave the room that color.

Light cream color for the paint.
The colors hunter green, navy blue and beige all look good with red/burgundy.

If you paint the walls any other color, it'll be to dark, unless you did a light greenish color? I'd go with light cream/beige.
