try this click start click run ...type in msconfig a window will open click the last tab called start and un-check the boxes by the one's you don't want to start click ok and windows will ask you to reboot your system do this and they will still be on your hard drive but will not start up until you want them to and will turn off when you are done with them

hit CNTRL+ALT+DELETE and end them one at a time.
use the task manager...this is an easy way to do it without permanently removing them.
