First, the .223 isn't criminal for deer in lots of states. The .243 is, by potential of a approaches, your proper decision. it is effective on smaller activity which includes Coyotes, and is quite useful on deer out to 3 hundred yards. The .243 is merely a necked-down .308, which, in turn, is a shorter version of the 30-06. the militia has replaced the 30-06 with the .308, by using fact the ballistics are almost comparable, bullet innovations are comparable, balk is far less, and the ammo is lighter to hold. because a one hundred grain .243 bullet is greater suitable than adequate for deer, I see no reason to pass as much as the .308, and by potential of no potential the 30-06. My acquaintances who hunt deer with the '06 tell me what a great blood path it leaves, by using fact it punches a huge hollow by way of a deer. I tell them i like to path my deer approximately 3 ft...rapidly down. that's the place they pass whilst it with a .243, by using fact the bullet infrequently exits. the sole 2 deer i've got shot with mine that took a step after being shot are the two that had go out wounds. the two ran approximately 30 yards, and the two were shot contained in the direction of the middle. another deer drop lifeless in it is tracks. whilst a bullet would not go out, it imparts all of its potential into the animal, inflicting huge trauma and instant, humane dying.

If the butcher, grocery, or locker can't help, try googling "deer meat online" or "venison online".
I had to do that but for crab legs. If they're even in the store they get snatched up quickly. So I found a place that will overnight fresh crab legs.

Try asking for Venison, if you ask for dear meat they may think you want expensive meat (deer / dear), like the Japanese Kobe beef, at around $50 / £30 a pound it is very dear meat. Hahahaha

It's illegal to sell wild game in Texas. Find a friend that hunts and offer to have sausage made for half of it ,from anything he might harvest .

I was told by a friend that a whole foods market may have it. I'm from Dallas and we get it from the Farmer's Market when we can't go hunting.
