I actually felt the same way. The best first step you can take before you do anything drastic like dropping out or withdrawing is to go in and talk to a counselor. Your college probably has a CAPS (Counselling & Psychological Services) center, where you can meet with a counselor who has helped many people with problems similar to yours! Do not lose hope...when you are depressed, things usually seem worse then they really are. Take this first step and see what your options are, and maybe you will be able to find some solutions to your depression. I made this choice and it has helped me immensely.

I always believe that education is a rigth not a priviledge. If u have been blessed with this human right why back out of it. May be a course you are to offer frustrates u? Easy then, just work at it. I agree to the anwer given by the lady who wrote that education isn't fun and games.I am a Nigerian and I'm growing up in an enviroment where children get forced to go to the University, imagine that! Being forced to succeed in life. My friend take this opportunity.A whole lot of Individuals did and today they are world changers, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Clinton, Myles Munroe U just name it. If u are Psychologicaly down get a good councelling body at school or church and talk this over.
To succeed depends on your today's decision. Education and the ability to acquire knowledge is a remarkable gift . Take it from someone living in a third world region "don't lose this gift". Get prepared for life itself, the college provides that opportunity. PEACE

hi, you don't really say why you feel depressed and just what it is about college you dont like, maybe you should have a chat with your doctor you may be suffering with depression and he could give you tablets and counciling to help, are you taking too much on or do you simply not have many friends and hate the courses maybe you can change your course, if you still feel like it is not the right thing for you then walk away, there is no point in doing something that makes you feel so bad, try and look around for something that you would like to do instead....good luck

So college isn't fun and games anymore? You actually have to study and work at making the grade? Guess what, that is what life is about. Getting your degree opens doors and makes life a whole lot easier. You can give in to your depression, you can quit....and spend the rest of your life regretting it, working at low paying dead end jobs. Or you can bite the bullet, dig in your heels and get your education. If your depression is clinical, meds might help you, see a doctor to determine if that is the case.
