Anemia, depression, and low blood sugar are some of the possibilities. See your doctor.

Know what you mean.....I've learned It's not how much you sleep you get but it's the quality of sleep that leaves you feeling rested. If you have a sleep partner that snores loudly, this can affect your sleep tremendously. If no sleep partner but you snore, this too can have an affect. Even if there are other noises in the house that you think you don't hear when you're asleep like a cat meowing, a hamster running in his wheel, a branch rubbing against on outside window, etc your brain may still be picking these sounds up and not allowing you to get through the stages for a restful sleep. Waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom also interrupts the sleep cycle. Try not drinking anything, especially milk 3 hours prior to turning in and maybe try a set of earplugs for a night or two to see if this helps. Try to avoid heavy exercise right before bedtime also. Try keeping the same sleep schedule 7 days a week. Go to bed and wake up at the same time even on weekends. Sleeping in on weekends may feel great but in the long run, it throws the whole cycle off and results in restless sleep.
If your condition gets worse, try asking your Dr. to put you through a sleep study. This will determine if sleep apnea is a cause. Most insurances will cover this if the Doc gives the right ICD-9 code. Good luck.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!
