This has so many good ones and pictures of them too. Here's a sample one:

Praline Pumpkin Dessert

1 can (15 oz) pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® golden vanilla cake mix
1 1/2cups chopped pecans or walnuts
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
Whipped cream, if desired
Additional pumpkin pie spice, if desired

1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease or spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan. In medium bowl, beat pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar and 4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice with wire whisk until smooth. Pour into pan.
2. Sprinkle dry cake mix over pumpkin mixture. Sprinkle with pecans. Pour melted butter evenly over top.
3. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 30 minutes.
4. To serve, cut dessert into 4 rows by 3 rows. Serve warm or chilled with dollop of whipped cream sprinkled with pumpkin pie spice. Store covered in refrigerator.

Fudge and toffee make great gifts also. Toffee is so easy too. There are many good recipes for both out there.

Last year for Christmas, I was strapped for cash, so I made buckets of cookies for family members. I found these really festive cardboard buckets at the Christmas Tree Shop (you could probably find them at your local craft store) for about a buck each. Then I made 3 types of cookies:

Coconut Macaroons half dipped in chocolate
Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies
Peanut Butter Snickers Cookies

I lined the buckets with tissue paper, and stuffed them with all three varieties. Everyone loved them!

Instead of putting frosting on cookies use and egg yoke and food coloring. Then you "paint" the cookie before baking it. A good recipe is 1 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1 cup softened butter, 1 tea vanilla, 1/2 tea almond extract, 1 egg, 2 and 1/2 cups flour, 1 tea baking soda 1 tea cream of tarter. Mix powdered sugar, butter, egg and vanilla and almond extract. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate 3 hours. Roll out, cut out, decorate. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake in a 375 preheated oven fro 7 minutes.
