It just brings the conversation to a new level and to get a feel for who you are. Why do people look so far into things?

Well, it seems that you don't know what you want to do. That is the real issue. You are a ship without a sail, in other words, you will venture where the wind blows. Your friend may not be this kind of person. No offense, but get yourself into school, at least get your Associates degree in Business. This way when you finally find your inspiration, you won't be totally locked out. (by locked out, I mean poor paying job where you can't afford anything but meagerness.) Don't be angry or agitated with your friend, this is actually an honest question. If you can't answer it, then work on it. Remember, you will have to support yourself in this life, welcome to adulthood. If wiping butts all day makes you happy, then so be it. However, if it can't support your needs, ( food, shelter, clothes, et cetra ) then it isn't worthwhile. I am glad that someone asked you this question, now you can do something about it. Good luck!

I believe we usually ask a woman this kind of question to signify our interest particularly if it is a formal conversation and you seem to like her. It is also a way to find out if she is doing decent work or not. It is a component of an intimate conversation that will provide better understanding between the two of you. Finding out a woman's interest, likes and dislikes provides a man the best choice to start an interesting relationship. A woman therefore should never be offended if she gets this kind of question.

He was probably making small talk, but from my experience (because I do this) I'll ask people what they want to do because I'd like to see what kind of person they are.. you know like an intellectual, a giver, spoiled brat (ceo type lol) or whatever.. maybe he's interested?

Well, care work really does not give one and idea of what it is your doing for a living. And perhaps he was interested in you and wanted to make small talk, to get to know you! God bless

I would say that he asked you because he wants to know what you plan for your future which could involve him as well. If you are not career minded that might affect his thoughts about you.

Probably just for conversation, or he was trying to see if you are a goal oriented person. You can tell alot about a person from finding out about their goals and aspirations.

To see how ambitious you are. See which way you are headed. Make sure your not looking for a sugar daddy.
