I think the best thing for you to do is to just do it. Relax, and really be present in your mind to all that you see and hear. Travelling can really be an adventure, and just being open to the new experience helps. I don't know if you're driving or riding or flying, but just enjoy the trip. If you aren't driving, bring a favorite book. Try bringing music that calms you and that you love. If you're using public transportation, meet the people that you see and say hello- or if you aren't that social, then imagine who they are and where they're going.
Just promise me you won't become one of those people who never leaves their town because you're afraid. You will miss so much!

pack your back looking forward to what you will be doing. it will help you to choose your clothing. keep a list out so you can check what you have packed and you will be able to quickly see what else is needed. keep in mind that alot of people travel today. if you are nervous, tell yourself this is perfectly normal. No one has all of the answers, no one is perfect. ask anyone in clothing that has the name of your airline on it whenever you have questions. i have travelled since i was a kid.

If you are flying, have the doc prescribe and mild sedative, and then if you are old enough, once the plane is in the air, order a drink. (This one works for me). You should sleep til you arrive. If you are driving, good luck (and remember....no pills or alcohol)
