Gastric (stomach) emptying time is between 4-6 hours depending on the type of meal. Fatty meals have a longer gastric emptying time. Hunger usually begins after your stomac is completely empty and then the stomach begins to churn again. This is hunger pangs. Some people also take appetitie suppressants like caffeine or amphetamine which suppress the satiety center in the brain. This can influence also how often you feel hungry.

That depends on what you are eating. If you eat meals with more fiber, the fiber expands and makes you feel full. It also takes longer for fiber to break down than anything else, which minimizes the peaks in your blood sugar levels, and keeps you from getting that hungry feeling. Also, the intake of fluids can impact this as fiber is expanded with these fluids. That's why if you choose oatmeal over cereal, you would feel fuller longer throughout the morning. Typically, I've noticed that if I eat a lower fiber breakfast, I would be hungry in 2 hours...4 hours with higher fiber foods.

I eat about every two to three hours. To better balance your energy levels throughout the day try to eat every few hours to constantly supply your body with energy. These meals should not be normal large portions but should be downsized slightly.
