I would first suggest seeing a doctor, Getting a checkup, and buying prenatal vitamins. they are offered over-the-counter, and one with higher folic acid in them. any pharmacist should be able to help. You don't want to have too much caffiene intake. One or 2 cups a day is okay but I just drank decaf when I was pregnant. Drink lots of milk, the vitamin D and calcium will come in handy. Other than that, your normal everyday foods are fine. not too much sugar Avoid tuna fish or any kind of fish. I saw a report on the news that says the mercury in it has been linked to ADD. Hope this helps. Good Luck and Congratulations!

I have 2 children now and i am 11 weeks prego w my third. For the first 2 pregnancies I ate a lot of junk food and gained a lot of weight myself, even though the babies were healthy. With this baby, because I am a little older, I am trying to eat healthier foods. I have a breakfast, which might include an egg and toast and yogurt and milk. Then I have a snack before lunch which usually is a fruit. Then I have lunch, snack before dinner and dinner and before bed time I have a snack. I am eating a lot of cheese, milk, fruits and once a day i have a sweet so I do not miss it a lot. I cut down on sodas and drink 100% juices and milk. By eating small portions often I do not have those crazy hunger pains pregos get. Good luck!

Well alot of people will say only the healthiest of foods, but i have 2 gorgeous and healthy boys and i ate the same foods when i was pregnant as i did before i got pregnant. so i think you can eat almost anything u desire. I personally would not recommend too much junk food though you do gain a lot of weight but some here and there wont hurt anything. But always go to your dr visits take you vitamins and the more water you drink the better.

Congratulations!!!!!
Trust your body to tell you what you need to eat (don't give in to abnormalities though like dirt or paper). Take a good prenatal vitamin that gives you 100% folic acid and is well balanced in the other vitamins. If you need help ask your local pharmacist, they should have some recomendations.
Eat a well balanced diet, get plenty of exercise (walking is easiest on your changing body), and most of all get plenty of rest. Your body will need it as it grows the little person inside of you.
God gave women instincts and you will learn to trust them. There are lots of sites on the web that will walk you through your pregnancy. One of my favorites is: www.babycenter.com
It is free and has all the information you need. You can even find out when you are due.

There are a number of things now that you shouldnt eat. When I had my 14 year old I was told to stay away from pate, liver and undercooked egg. I had another daughter 2.5 years ago and there seems to be a whole range of things you shouldnt be eating, but the best thing to do is to buy a wee book on pregnancy, that should answer most of your questions throughout your pregnancy.
Congratulations by the way - I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Take your prenatal vitamins, you need folic acid- talk to your doctor about a supplement or eat lots of leafy green veggies. Also, orange juice, and many cereals contain a good amount of folic acid. Try to stay away from large amounts of caffeine. Obviously, if you smoke quit. Drink plenty of water. Walking is great exercise but don't over do it. Remember to rest now and then and take time to enjoy your pregnancy. Start a journal- how you feel, physically and emotionally, what you are eating, questions for your doctor, notes about how your spouse is feeling, or things he is doing for you. Not only will it help you keep track of things as your pregnancy progresses but it will help you remember important dates or questions you have and leave a great keepsake for your little one when he/she grows up. Congratulations and best of luck with your pregnancy and new baby.

Listen to your body, MOST of the time (some women crave dirt while pregnant, and you don't want to eat that) besides that, your body craves foods it needs, and your cravings are what your baby will need. Eat healthy, of course. Take your prenatal vits every month, or any iron suppliment your OB gives you. Do light exercises, no smoking, no drinking alcohol, no drug use (unless OB says it won't hurt the baby) Stay away from soft cheeses and deli meats as much as possible.
I think I covered all the basics, CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!
