Go back to the Dr. you may need Oral antibiotics as well as the eye drops. Or go to another Dr that actually CARES.

Ok, I have three suggestions (some of them are weird though).
1) If you know anyone who is breastfeeding ask them to give you an ounce, seriously, this is the best treatment for eye infections. Breastmilk contains all kinds of antiboidies for bacteria and viruses. You just use it like a regular eye drop. (Keep refridgerated)
2) Maybe it is allergies, try using an allergy eye drop. I don't know if you can mix these with antibiotics, ask your pharmacist. I know it is just one eye, but stranger things have happened. Maybe you got a little bit of something in there.
3) My mom was just telling me that when I was a child and had eye infections my doctor told her to put regular polysporin on my eye lids. That way I would rub it into my eyes and it is much easier than drops. Also because it is oily it stays on the eye longer. (You might consider asking the pharmacist before you do this, because polysporing may not be the same as it once was.)
Stop wearing contacts until this is cured for several days. Then wear new contacts. Consider getting a new contact case and new cleaner as well. You must also stop using any eye makeup and throw it out. Replace is 2-3 days after the infection is cured.
I would give the above or anything else 24 to 48 hours to take effect then I would go back to your doctor. These are your eyes, they are are very important.

I hope you are not wearing the contacts that are infected. I also had eye infections when I was a contact wearer, turned out I was allergic to the cleansing solutions. It took my eyes a month before they felt better. I opted for Lasik 5 years ago and love it. Hope your eye clears up, do not rub it at all it makes it 10 X worse. Try cool compresses if they itch and for the swelling.

Go to the accident and emergency dept at your local hospital, you could be allergic to the eye drops. Otherwise go back to your doctor and ask that a swab is taken and sent to the lab to find out exactly what antibiotics you need.

see your doctor right away and insist that you need something else, a different antibiotic. if the pain gets too bad then go the A&E and get a specialist to have a look at it. make sure your taking the full course of antibiotics and try not to rub or touch your eye.
