After 6 mos, she told me she needed some time for herself which I have given her, but the other night I couldn't take it and cracked. I sent her a text just totally spilling my guts, enought that she stayed home from work that day. She came over tonight. Things felt ambiguous when she left. How long would you wait to ask what I can expect as far as we go? Should I even ask or just see how things unfold?

Tell her you are there for her when she is ready to talk and then leave it at that. Put the ball in her court because any pressure on her from you could make things worse.
