No one has ever accomplished that. With treatment someone who is HIV positive can avoid AIDS but can never get rid of the HIV itself.

I think there ARE cases of people who claim that they once tested positive for the virus, then later the it was at undetectable levels in their blood (i.e., not cured per se, but only unable to detect it with typical testing methods).
I'm very skeptical of this. For one thing, it's always possible that the person had a bad test in the first place...a false positive from mixed up test results or what-have-you. That is, they never had it and now test negative. Not a reversal.
Also, I'm unsure of the exact methods, but I believe that detecting HIV does not involve actually viewing the virus under a microscope. I believe it involves testing for the antibodies to the virus or other markers/indicators that the virus is in one's system. I'm tempted to say that lack of these antibodies once one has tested positive at some point is probably a VERY bad thing, since that's what your body is using to fight the virus and keep you from getting ARC (aids related complex).

If this was possible, we would have a cure for HIV! But undetectable levels of HIV (Viral Load) are achieved by taking antiretrovirals. An interesting case called "The Berlin Patient" is supposed to have reverted to an undetectable viral load without antiretrovirals.

i've never met one but i've heard the stories. Mostly the levels of the virus in the bloodd are untraceable or the virus (clever dude) goes into hiding behind a friendly cell so it's not attacked and we think it's gone too. If our body isn't giving us signals that there is an alien virus why not believe it right.
Some nyangas (witch doctors or traditional healers (preferably)) claim to be able to heal it with natural medicine in my country.
Some Christians claim that faith can heal you.
Me: I think anything is possible.
