He usually does it when he goes a bit mad and runs round the house or when we've all gone to bed, as if to say he's lonely.

good news they wont as often but they will still get turned on ..on occasions..you will just have to bear with the horny little boy

Our cat did that, too. Turned out he was part Siamese, and that was just a noise they made. I think he did it to keep my mother from sleeping all night.

I am tempted to answer that he wants to go pee but its probably a female cat in the neighbourhood.

my parents have a cat that makes that type of sound, then it starts gagging, then it throws up a hair ball, but the sound helps us get the cat outside.

Like you said, he could be just lonely. It's sort of a mournful sound......I really don't have it figured out yet LOL.

he's not fixed is he? there's probably a girl kitty in the area that he'd like to get to know better. get him fixed.
