Yes, A friend of mine had a beagle mix that Ivermectin did not work on! Try changing her over to Interceptor.

if you didn't miss a dose and had the correct Heart guard does for the dog, yes it should work. How old was your dog when you first had him tested? There is such a thing as a false negative with the test. I know, I have a Boxer going through HW treatment now and he tested negative over a year ago and had been on Heart Guard since then. Problem was he came from a rescue and they don't purchase anything as they operate on donations. There is a 5-7 month time frame from when the dog was infected til the adult worm start to reproduce and the dog tests positive. Vets are SUPPOSED to tell you with a negative to have the dog retested in 6 months. Most of them don't. Thank goodness the Rescue group is paying for the treatment. I have to go through their vet but that is OK. Heart guard wants all sorts of proof of purchase receipts for 2-3 years, proof of this and proof of that. Have your vet contact them. They will pay for the treatment if they are satisfied that you did everything correctly. The dog should not have any parasites either. Mine had whipworm and they paid for that. They don't advertise that they prevent whipworms but they will pay for everything if you can prove to their satisfaction that you did everything you should have done
Good luck and keep me posted on the progress.

Only if you have missed a dose or the dog threw up the pill after taking it.
Ivermectin works really well and will kill off more worms than dogs even get.
We use it on horses and it kills almost every type of worm around.
