I once worked with Prince (or the artist or whatever he was calling himself then). He was appearing on a TV show I was working on and strict instructions were given incase of contact with him.
He must not be directly addressed - if addressed by him, refer to him only as Sir. There were loads of stupid things he wanted in his dressing room and he had an entourage of about 18 huge blokes. I couldn't resist taking the risk of making the 'w@nker' gesture behind his back.

What is funny is Paul McCartney was on the same show and he was a really nice guy. He even held doors open for me (a lowly runner) because I had my arms full of Pizza for Robbie Williams.

If I say so myself, this def. deserves best answer. I never tell anyone about this stuff.

Edit:
Just remembered, I physically 'bumped into' Peter Beardsley in Newcastle once. I gave him a filthy look and called him a t0sser, (I'm not a football fan and didn't recognise him). It was only when people started to gather round him that I realised wh it was. (He was still a premiership player for NUFC and considered a local God then)

I have meet dozens of celebrities at conventions. 99% of them are gracious. At least 10% are amazing! (June Lockhart from Lassie and Lost in Space being an excellent example..what a wonderful woman) (David Prowse..Darth Vader..is another person who made his fans feel most welcome)
But you want to hear about the one percent.
The actor who played Wormtongue in the Lord of the Rings treated all fans as if they were interrupting him. (Not a big star,,but the first to come to mind)
Bob Hope (you want big...you got big) was very impersonal, just signed and said hi.but that may have been the pressures of the crowd.
Traci Lords is the biggest loser I met. A Z list celebrity who acted like she was queen

I have served quite a few famous people, and have never met a rude one.

Have you heard the one about the celebrity arriving too late for her plane, and they couldn't let her on because it was already in the air? She did the "Do you know who I am" routine, so the check-in attendant phoned his supervisor, and asked for some hel[p, as there was some woman who didn't know who she was!

Worked at a hotel the X factor judges stayed one year.

Simon Cowell was charm itself and unfailingly polite.
Kate Thornton was guest from hell whinging about nothing in particular.

Very suprising as you'd think it would be the other way round - Simon having a huge ego and Kate being down to earth.

Rosie O'Donnell is one of the most obnoxious people I have ever met. SHe is rude and has the audacity to try and thump me and my fmaily out of our table at a favorite restaurant of ours. I had to have the owner intervene, letting her know that if her money was better than ours, there would be a big stink inthe papers.

I met Robert Plant at an airport once. We were both in the queue for Business/First class.

He turned to me and said, "This is the queue for business and first class only, you know".

Cheeky stuck-up f**kwit.
