This summer my boyfriend and I traveled to Saturna Island BC to visit some of his family...has anyone else been there? What did you do while you were there? Are there any nearby attractions in Victoria or other isles that were interesting?

Apparently Victoria has lots of attractions that tourists are interested in. Unfortunately, I live in Victoria and take them for granted. I used to work for a sightseeing company in Victoria and hearing from some of the tourists off the cruise ships, they love the Butchart Gardens, Butterfly Gardens, the downtown area during the summer, inner harbour, Dallas Road waterfront, Beacon Hill Park - which has a great petting zoo for kids, lots of outdoor markets on the weekends, whale watching is a great thing to do if you have the time and money, Government Street is always fun walk around as it has buskers putting on a variety of shows and great little shops, take a double decker bus tour through Gray Line, it's a great way to see the city. Royal Blue Line has a "Hop on, hop off" tour where you can get off and tour favourite city attractions, the Craigdarroch Castle is neat from what I've heard, although I've never been there. A neat day trip would be the Mill Bay Ferry, which goes from Brentwood Bay to Mill Bay (the trip is something like 15 minutes) and enjoy the town of Mill Bay, it is a very scenic trip.

I think the best bet is to check www.tourismvictoria.com as they have lots of information including accomodation and other attractions.

The site shown as source has a map too:
Saturna’s thirty-one square kilometer area includes forests, wet lands, mud flats, rock bluffs, reefs and beaches. There are over one hundred and eighty bird species from hummingbirds to bald eagles. Deer, favourites among the island’s wildlife, are seen everywhere. A rich and abundant marine life is visible on rocks and in tidal pools. River otters, seals and sea lions are seen along the costal waters and Orca whales are frequently spotted in the waters off East Point. Winter Cove, site of the Saturna Lamb Barbecue, features sheltered anchorage and boat launching, with trails through mixed forest, marsh land and shoreline, to a view point at Boat Pass. Below the rock bluffs on the south side of the island are Saturna Vineyard and Winery, Thomson Park and Taylor Point. There are beach areas for unsupervised swimming at Veruna Bay, East Point Regional Park, and Thomson Park.
