My friend told me that when cats noses are wet that menas that they are sick. I have a cat and her nose was always wet up until a few days ago. When her nose became dry she also started cleaning herself more often. Does this mean she is getting better??

You have nothing to worry about. Sometimes they are wet and sometimes they are dry. The best way to tell if your kitty is sick is in her behavior. Cleaning herself more often doesn't really make a difference as well, its a cat thing.

If you are worried, check your kitties gums...they should be a healthy pink color....you never want to see pale gums.

It is very hard to tell if a cat is sick judging by the moisture on it's nose. It's very common for a cat (and dog for that matter) to have a wet nose. If it's dry, it could simply mean that it needs a drink of water. Now, if the nose is almost dripping.. you should take it to a vet as this could be a sign of something serious. In any case, I wouldn't worry too much about the nose on your cat. There are many other signs that are much clearer.

ive heard the same thing you have, but one thing i do know about this subject is that if a cats nose is wet is can also mean its "in the mood" to put it politly. I know because my dominate male cat after i pet him a for a little while will get start to get frisky and from time to time chase one of our females cats and all i hear is her fighting his attention.

i dont know if it helps you any but i thought id let you know so you can keep it in the back of your mind.

When my male cat gets like that i leave him alone to do what ever it is hes going to do.
