I am looking for a good quality fork for a mtb. i wwant something light, disc brake only, air suspension, 32mm stanchions or larger, between 130-150mm travel. Preferably Fox. I am looking a the Fox Vanilla RCL right now. it has 140mm air sprung with adjustable everything for $490. how good is this and is there anything cheaper?

i do mainly XC riding but i dont limit it to only that. i also dont want to spend more than $500. i do plan to buy it online as my local shops dont carry anything dealing with suspension.

guess it depends on what kind of riding u do. Fox is overpriced in my opinion even though ive heard good things about the Vanilla. Ive done perfectly fine with R. Shox and i like Marzocchi as well. check out shops online there are some much better deals than 5 bills for a fork. lol. its meant to be fun not make u broke.

What is your type of riding? Trail? XC? More of All Mountain?
Fox Vanilla is no air fork. If Fox is a must, then go with either Float or TALAS.
However, Vanilla is no nonsense product. It's plush, highly reliable, and only a few ounces more than TALAS. If air is not a must, then go for Vanilla, instead.
I recently tried Manitou Minute 4:00. Despite what everyone said about Manitou, it is very good, no noodle (the new one gets 32mm stanchion), and highly reliable, too! Price should be similar to Vanilla.
It's Fox competitor is TALAS XTT, which is not as reliable as non-terra logic Foxes, and priced (street) so high you can get a Minute + better accessories..

See in case you have a a million" or a million and a million/8" steerer tube diameter. See in case you have a threaded fork, with a quill stem or in case you have a threadless fork, the place the stem slides over the steerer tube then bolts in to be secured. do you like a suspension fork or no longer? in the experience that your motorbike did no longer have one it ought to truly reek havoc on how the motorbike handles in case you place one on, by using motorbike having "pre 'ninety 8" geometry. yet somewhat, do no longer purchase a fork off ebay. you will get screwed.
